Snakes, snails and leaf bugs at the London Zoo...
...these are all the critters that Sophie petted at the London Zoo in our most recent visit. What a great day full of animals. Sophie is so brave. There were plenty of adults being quite vocal about how they were not touching these animals but Sophie steps right up and pets away. We actually had to tell her that other children needed a turn! Last time we visited the zoo we didn't have enough time to visit all of the animals, this time we got more in, but still did not make it through the entire zoo before Sophie hit nap time and was sleeping in the buggy. Maybe next time...
One interesting exhibit that we saw this visit was the spider monkeys. They are not in a cage but an "open" area that you can enter. It is quite cool to see the monkeys so close without having to look through wires or glass. I'm not sure this type of exhibit would work in the US. One of the monkeys got out recently and made headline news! Very cool exhibit though for kids and adults alike.
