City Farm in London
London is an interesting place. Sophie and I are trying to take advantage of all it has to offer for kids and families. Within walking distance from our flat is the Kentish Town City Farm, which we visited this morning.
There are city farms scattered in different locations across London, this farm was in a very obscure location. We actually walked past the entrance of the farm it blends in so well with the community. The farm is located along railway tracks and we have seen it many times from the train. It is bizarre to have this farm right in the city.
The Kentish Town City Farm is run by all volunteers and receives funds from donations, the city and from the sale of animals (i.e. the piglets will be sold). It is free to visit and a great way to expose Sophie to some farm animals. We had a good visit and when needing to see some animals we will head there. It houses horses, one cow, many goats, two pigs (and currently some piglets), lots of chickens, a huge turkey and some sheep. Since we won't make it to any county fairs back home this will have to do. Sophie loved the animals no matter...
