Antiquing in England

I went to a lecture titled "Antiquing in England" through the Hampstead Women's Club. It was given by antiques expert Mary Ann Spatola at her gorgeous house in Hampstead. It was fantastic!

Mary Ann is a fireball and very passionate about her antiques and she has a lot of them from all over the world, but her main focus of course was on English antiques. I really learned a lot! Mary Ann covered the basic terminology, major periods, markets/dealers, and provided lots of examples of great pieces and some mistakes from her own collection which was nice and very down to earth. The fee for the lecture goes to her favourite charity.

Mary Ann has antiques in every room of her house, from furniture, paintings, silver, china, rugs, and more. Her family has traveled extensively and she has pieces from countless countries. It was great to see Mary Ann's house alone, but the lecture was fantastic (Michelle and Jackie, you two would have been in heaven!)
