First Swim of the Year!
Sophie and I walked down to the park after her nap on Thursday for a little play. The sun was finally out after a one week hiatus. Well, we were happily surprised to see the paddling pool open. It obviously caught a lot of people off guard, as all the kids in the paddling pool were all in their knickers (underwear). Of course Sophie wanted to join in the fun. So when in Rome...she got in the paddling pool in just her knickers, we had no towel to wipe her off, and she went commando after she got out 10 minutes later...Summer's on!
May House Updates
Our two week trip home to the US was a whirlwind! Actually with a day of travel on the front end (with a brutal 5.5 hour layover in Detroit which knackered me out!) and a day of travel on the back end, we were only home for 12 days. Each day was packed with errands, visiting, house plans, eating, and occasionally sleeping. We were actually glad to get back to London so we could sleep some!
The priority of this trip of course was the new house being built in Lino Lakes. It is really coming along! The house is completely framed, roof on, windows and doors in, deck boards up, and the first stage of plumbing and electric are complete. The house is being "wrapped" to prepare for siding, and the insulation is also going in.
While we were home we made final decisions on the house siding colors, door color, carpet, tile for all baths, toilets, future basement plan, sinks and hardware, kitchen island, lighting placement, granite counter tops, mirrors, and lights. The lighting selection took us 3 days~! Okay, it took me 3 days to come to the decision that I liked what Jeremy had picked out, probably in the first hour on the first day. Thankfully, our interior designer/builder's wife/partner liked it too! It was all fun, and a little stressful, especially the light selection, Jeremy and I learned that we both come to decisions very, very differently to get to the same decision. The one major decision we have left to sort out is the landscaping, which is in progress...For more photos see our Shutterfly account.
